When to skip this kit
You need a native Excel, Canva, or Word template. This download contains Markdown documents and an offline HTML workbook, plus Notion import files you configure yourself.
You need autosave or cloud sync. Export Markdown or save a backup before closing the offline workbook.
You need someone to complete the work. These are worksheets to fill in yourself.
Read the first worksheet below to see whether its questions help with your task.
Included files
What's inside
01Reader promise brief
02Four-issue editorial plan
03Issue writing template
04Welcome email sequence
05Monthly editorial review
Each document has instructions, questions, and space for your answers. The final document includes a common mistake to check for before using your work.
The worked case contains five completed documents, one for each worksheet. Follow the evidence, decisions, and corrections across the same fictional project. The case is included in the workbook, reading edition, Markdown example, and optional Notion import.
Your completion check
Each issue delivers the reader promise independently; the welcome timing matches signup, current suppression is checked, and the review separates actual sends, evidence of use, and production capacity.
Before you finish
Check this before you use it
The calendar fills with announcements but little reader value.
Give each issue one useful lesson that stands alone.
Use the final worksheet to record what needs fixing and what you still need to check.
Purpose: promise an inspectable unit of reader value at a sustainable cadence.
Reader role/situation [ ]; recurring task [ ]; specific problem/example [ ]; sources you can defend [ ].
Promise: Every [cadence], receive [format/one lesson] to help you [controllable task].
Boundary: topics, claims, and services not included [ ]; why your sources can support this promise [ ]. Avoid a guaranteed commercial outcome or expertise you do not possess.
Signup agreement ledger
Published wording/version [ ]; regular frequency [ ]; welcome/resource contents and timing [ ]; optional promotional purpose [ ]; consent/eligibility record [ ]; current suppression/withdrawal route [ ].
State the welcome sequence as well as regular issues before signup. Interview, purchase, or client contact permission is not automatically newsletter permission. The actual sending system and approved policy govern eligibility; this workbook is not a permission database.
Sample issue [exact version]; promised resource [exists/works]; sender identity/support [ ]; unsubscribe mechanism [working test]. Do not add unrelated or purchased contacts.
Capacity per issue: research [ ]; writing [ ]; factual/source review [ ]; formatting/testing [ ]; response reserve [ ]; total [ ]. Available hours over the four-issue period [ ]; setup/welcome hours separately [ ].
Choose cadence from actual capacity and rehearse one issue before promising it. Four fortnightly issues span eight weeks; do not squeeze them into a monthly review as four completed sends. Keep an evergreen backup and a truthful disruption plan.
Ready when: the first four topics all satisfy the same promise, the sample reflects delivered content, and the signup/sending arrangements match. Unresolved resource, eligibility, or capacity issue → hold the announcement or revise the actual promise before publishing.

Four issues and a welcome sequence connected by one reader promise.
This is the complete first worksheet from the current edition. The full kit adds the remaining four documents, a worked scenario, and the offline editing workbook, plus an optional Notion import ZIP with Markdown pages and CSV databases.
Worked example
See the worked-case summary
Fictional example included in edition 2.49.1.
Fictional case: Rae creates The Approval Note for independent designers, with one practical decision-review lesson every two weeks. Four completed issues cover defining the decision, checking approval authority, handling unresolved questions, and choosing a follow-up. Three welcome drafts fit the declared signup promise. The monthly review records only the first two regular issues, exposes production-time overruns, and keeps delivered emails, reported use, and privacy-affected opens distinct.

Four issues and a welcome sequence connected by one reader promise. Check your answers against the original records and note anything unresolved before sharing your work.
What is in the Notion import pack?
The download includes an optional NOTION-IMPORT.zip with authored Markdown page templates and sample-filled CSV databases. Import the files in Notion, then set field types and any database relations yourself. Alongside those files, you receive editable Markdown documents and an offline HTML workbook. Set up the imported pages and tables yourself. These are not native Excel, Canva, or Word templates. Extract the whole ZIP before opening the HTML files. Mobile file managers may not run local scripts; the text files and reading edition remain available.
Will this do the work for me?
The kit supplies structure, questions, and examples. You provide the facts, make the decisions, and adapt the finished output. You are responsible for checking the finished work. Custom implementation and professional review are not included.
